Product Introduction

The DredgerTM stent retriever device is used to remove blood clots from the cerebral arteries of patients who have suffered an acute ischemic stroke. An ischemic stroke is caused by the blockage of a blood vessel in the brain, leading to a sudden interruption of the blood supply. This can cause significant damage to the brain, resulting in motor, cognitive, and sensory deficits. The intracranial stent retriever is designed to restore blood flow to the affected area of the brain, thereby reducing the risk of permanent disability or death. It is made up of several components. The first is a flexible catheter, which is inserted into an artery in the groin and guided up to the blocked vessel in the brain. Once the catheter is in place, a stent retrieval is deployed. This is a tiny, expandable mesh tube that can be used to capture and remove the clot.
