what is Stent Retriever?

Stent retriever are tiny mesh tubes that grab and extract blood clots in blocked arteries. Stent retrievers are deployed in an occluded vessel and are temporarily expanded into the body of a thrombus. This procedure recanalizes the vessel, allowing for reperfusion of ischemic sites and causing the thrombus to be partially entangled within the stent. It is a revascularization device designed for effective clot retrieval during thrombectomy procedures for acute ischemic stroke patients. Thrombectomy is performed by retracting the stent.

01/

Flush Dredger RD package hoop with saline. Hydrated no less than 2 minute before removing from the hoop. Keep Retriever hydrated.

02/

 

Read indications of Guide Catheter label and place a Balloon Guide Catheter or Guide Catheter into the internal carotid artery, common carotid artery or the subclavian artery accordingly.

 

03/

Connect the Rotating Hemostasis Valve to microcatheter hub.

04/

Place microcatheter into target vessel by traditional catheterization technique using standard nuerovascular guidewire. If anatomic site permitted, advance the distal tip of microcatheter to the distalis of thrombus.

05/

Remove guidewire from microcatheter. Inject contrast media intomicrocatheter for fluoroscopic observation of distalis vasculature. Flush microcatheter.

06/

Remove insertion tool and pre‐loaded Retriever from package hoop as a whole system. Keep Retriever completely stay in insertion tool or retract the Retriever further into insertion tool.

07/

NOTE: insert the insertion tool into middle of Rotating Hemostasis Valve, then flush insertion tool using syringe or infusion tube until saline spill from the proximal of insertion tool. If insertion tool is not flushed properly, advancing Retriever into insertion tool may be difficult.

08/

Connect insertion tool to microcatheter hub. Close Rotating Hemostasis Valve tightly to fix insertion tool in position.

Advance Retriever into microcatheter until half of length inserted. Remove insertion tool.
